Petra Cason (Vicenza, 1980) is an art curator and cultural event organizer with a solid academic background and over twenty years of experience in the museum and contemporary art sectors. She holds a Master’s degree in History of the Arts and Conservation of Artistic Heritage from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, graduating with top honors, and a first-level Master’s in Conservation, Management, and Enhancement of Industrial Heritage from the University of Padua. She has also completed several advanced training programs, including the “Art Manager” course at the European Institute of Innovation for Sustainability (EIIS, 2023–24), and courses in cultural project design and creative entrepreneurship.
Since 2007, she has been collaborating with Civita Mostre e Musei at Gallerie d’Italia – Vicenza, where she is involved in museum service management, educational programs, and guided tours. Alongside her institutional work, she has developed an independent career as a curator and project manager, founding and directing cultural spaces and associations such as Metamorfosi Gallery, Laboratorio Arka, and, since 2020, NUMA contemporary—a gallery and platform dedicated to contemporary art, where she serves as President and Curator.
She has conceived and directed major festivals and cultural programs, including “Gli Stati della Mente” (Vicenza, 2016–2018), a cultural event dedicated to the dialogue between art and mental health, and “Ghisa Art Fusion” (Schio, 2012–2014), an exhibition project focused on the revitalization of industrial heritage sites. Her curatorial projects include exhibitions and initiatives such as Mind the G.A.P – Il Giocatore, Erranza. Del Radicante e di altri segni, Il tempo a mani nude, and the States of Mind Prize, a contemporary art award supported by MiBAC and SIAE.
Active also in art criticism and communication, she has contributed as a writer to magazines such as Artribune and Fermomag, curated blogs and publications (including Olivarescut), and authored critical essays, catalog texts, and articles dedicated to contemporary artists and themes.
Her expertise ranges from curatorial practice and exhibition management to cultural project coordination, critical writing, and press and communications strategy.
