SOL STUDIO's, Chrisonia DeCosta | 2015 National YoungArts Foundation Finalist winner

Jersey City High School Senior, and recent SOL resident, Chrisonia DeCosta has been named a 2015 National YoungArts Foundation Finalist winner in VISUAL ARTS by the National Foundation for the Advancement in the Arts!

Chrisonia was a resident young artist in ESKFF's SOL STUDIOS this passed summer.

SOL STUDIOS, The simple idea that many young urban artists pursuing a serious interest in fine art are not afforded the community identity, the home support and/or the studio work space to create at the level necessary to develop a true artist portfolio. Our mission is to engage young artists in developing ways of talking about their work and to encourage them to explore what is unique about their individual creativity, their culture and their place in their artist community.

As a finalist, she is invited to participate in National Youngarts Week in Miami in January and the Regional Youngarts Week in New York, where she will work with master artists in art workshops including Mana's Marina Abramović.

Chrisonia can use her designation as a 2015 YoungArts Winner in her college applications, on-line profile, and resume, during interviews, and as she promotes herself and builds an artistic career. Chrisonia will be eligible to receive an award between $1,000-10,000 and possible consideration for the US Presidential Scholars in the Arts nomination.
